Marvelously Modular Hat Knitting Pattern

image of marvelously modular hat in three sizes with or without eyelets

A beanie that’s anything but basic! This garter-stitch hat is worked in three sections and in three different directions. You’ll begin with a provisional cast-on and work around the body of the hat sideways with short rows for shaping, then join with Kitchener stitch. Next, you’ll pick up stitches along the shorter edge and work upward to the top, decreasing as you go. Then finally, you’ll pick up stitches around the longer edge and work downward to create the ribbed brim. The eyelets within the body of the hat are entirely optional.
